University of New Haven: MS Sport Management

The University of New Haven’s MS in Sport Management degree is the oldest program in the U.S. continually housed in a business school.

The AACSB accredited program is focused on cultivating and training industry leaders to work in the sport industry through hands-on experiential education. In addition to the general and college athletic administration concentrations, the program offers one of the very few STEM-certified Sport Management degrees in the US. The STEM certified Business Analytics concentration integrates sports business education with quantitative and analytical training, building coding, visualization, and data-driven decision-making skills.

The MS Sport Management program has a typical cohort size of 20 to 28 and supported by five full time faculty members and several industry professionals serving as part-time faculty. The group is led by Dr. Ceyda Mumcu, a former professional athlete and the recipient of 2022 Lough Award by the Sport Marketing Association, who is responsible for all sport management and esports programs at the university.

The program prioritizes student development and career readiness and integrates hands-on learning experiences through client-based coursework, internships, partnerships with professional sports organizations, networking opportunities and access to alumni mentors and industry professionals.
