Disgraced former cyclist Lance Armstrong has reached a $5m (€4m) settlement with the US federal government in a whistleblower lawsuit that could have led to $100m in damages from the high-profile case in which the American admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs throughout much of his trophy-laden career.
