Former Fifa chief speaks out over governance reform

Miguel Maduro, the former head of Fifa’s independent governance and review committee, today (Wednesday) said that he banned Russia’s Vitaly Mutko from being appointed to the ruling council of world football’s governing body amid strong pressure from a Fifa leadership concerned over implications for the 2018 World Cup in Russia and the position of president Gianni Infantino.
