SportBusiness has strengthened its global editorial team with the recruitment of experienced sports industry journalist and editor Jonathan Rest.
Rest joins after two years in the role of Head of Content at TransferRoom, football’s digital marketplace. Before that, he spent 11 years at Sportcal writing about all facets of the sports business sector.
As Global News Reporter, Rest will work alongside Global News Editor Martin Ross in driving forward SportBusiness’ industry-leading subscription news and analysis services.
He brings detailed industry knowledge, an extensive contact book and a track record of exclusive and in-depth reporting across sponsorship, media rights, agency business, technology and international federation governance.
Rest, who became Head of News at Sportcal in 2019, joins an editorial operation now led by Editor in Chief Callum McCarthy.

Alongside his news writing duties for SportBusiness.com, Rest will also support the SportBusiness Media and SportBusiness Sponsorship teams, led by Imran Yusuf and Ben Cronin, respectively.
