TF1-M6 merger called off after regulator demands

French free-to-air commercial broadcasters TF1 and M6, along with their respective parent companies, conglomerate Bouygues and media group RTL Group, have ended a proposed merger operation after declaring that conditions for the deal being sought by regulators would have left the project without any “industrial logic”.
