Tokyo 2020 costs jump after new expenses added by auditors

A report by Japan’s audit board has revealed that the cost of staging last year’s Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games has jumped to ¥1.7tn (€12.2bn/$12.9bn) – around 20 per cent more than the ¥1.423.8tn announced by the organising committee back in June.
