Uefa mulls financial impact of biennial World Cup as nations ‘consider quitting’ Fifa

An independent study commissioned by Uefa, football’s European governing body, has found that it could lose up to €3bn ($3.5bn) if Fifa’s plans for a biennial World Cup come to fruition, as it emerged that several European nations are said to be contemplating quitting Fifa in the ongoing battle surrounding plans to transform the international calendar.
