UK and Ireland drop 2030 World Cup bid in favour of Euro 2028 ‘lower delivery costs’

The UK and Ireland have agreed to drop a bid for the 2030 Fifa Men’s World Cup, deciding that a joint bid for the 2028 Uefa men’s European Championship will offer a “similar return on investment” with a “far lower delivery cost”.
