Usmanov back as FIE boss despite ongoing sanctions

Alisher Usmanov, the Russian-Uzbek billionaire who stood down as president of the International Fencing Federation (FIE) in 2022 after sanctions were imposed following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, has been returned for a new term as head of the governing body.
