The 2014 MotoGP season will return to an 18-race calendar after the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) dropped a planned new race in Brazil.

Italian motor cycle manufacturer Aprilia has revealed that it plans to return to MotoGP as a full factory team in 2016, following its exit from the racing series in 2004.

Argentina’s Termas de Rio Hondo circuit will be added to the MotoGP racing calendar from next year, with the contract lasting until at least 2016.

Netherlands-based race track TT Assen has been awarded a contract extension to host MotoGP until 2021.

Japanese manufacturer Suzuki has announced that it will return to MotoGP in 2015.
